Crew

Enjoying Fakarava
The Moondance crew includes me, Carla, and my wonderful husband Doug.

Doug and I met and married in Hermiston, Oregon, 1982. Doug had learned to sail with his family, plus we both loved traveling.  That got us started chartering sailboats in the Caribbean in the 80's - brother Phil actually got us going.

We were sailing in the Virgin Islands and met some cruisers - loved listening to their stories and decided that this was the life for us.

So, in 1999 we started looking for a sailboat and found Moondance - covered in snow in Maryland - and decided this was the one.

Our life was forever changed.

We sold everything (except our tri-plex in New Mexico) and moved to California (the place you ought to be).

We spent 8 years getting Moondance prepared, plus having a grand time living in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We weren't ready, but our dock buddies finally pushed us off the docks on October 15, 2008.

We had a grand time cruising the Pacific for 8 years and made it all the way to Fiji where we got stuck for 3 years.  We sold our beautiful Tayana to good friends in Fiji and moved back to the States in 2016.

In 2017, with the help of friends, we purchased our next boat - a 38' Ocean Alexander Trawler - Moondance, of course.

We are currently living aboard in San Diego, California, getting Moondance prepped to motor back to Mexico - one of our favorite places.

Hopefully, in 2017!
